Tuna balls in tomato sauce


A tasty Italian recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: fish, olive oil, onion (chopped), garlic (in slices), tomato cubes (400 g), sundried tomatoes ((jar 295 ml), drained), tuna (in water (a 185 g)) , old white bread (crumbled), eggs (beaten), basil ((15 g), leaf cut), spring onions ((3 pieces) and thin rings).

Directions

  1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and fry the onion for 4 minutes. Fry the garlic for 1 min. Add the tomato cubes, season with salt and pepper and reduce to low heat for 15 min.
  2. Cut the sundried tomatoes into pieces. Drain the tuna and puree with the hand blender to an even mass. Add the bread, the eggs, half of the basil, half of the spring onion, the sundried tomatoes and to taste pepper and salt. Form 18 balls the size of a walnut with wet hands. Add extra bread if the mixture is too moist and too sticky.
  3. Heat the rest of the oil in a pan and fry the tuna balls in approx. 6 min. Around brown and done. Serve with the tomato sauce and sprinkle with the rest of the basil and the spring onions.
