Bacon steaks with fried onions and prunes
A tasty Dutch recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: meat, stewed pears, redcurrant juice (250 ml), sugar, crumbly potatoes, bacon patties (pure sourdough), butter, onions (in parts), olive oil, vegtable prunes (without seeds (500 g)), red -Wine vinegar and milk.

Peel the pears but leave the stalk on.

Put them in a pan and pour the berry juice.

Pour water in it until the pears are underneath.

Bring to the boil, add the sugar and cook on low heat for 1 1/2 hours until done.

Peel the potatoes and cook them with salt in about 20 minutes until done.

Meanwhile sprinkle the meat with salt and pepper, heat half of the butter in a frying pan and fry the meat in 2 minutes brown on both sides.

Turn down the heat and roast the meat for about 15 minutes.

In the meantime, mix together the onion and oil wedges.

Add pepper and salt.

Heat the grill pan and grill the onion over medium heat in about 10 minutes until golden brown.

Cut the plums into thin slices and scoop them in a bowl with the hot onion and vinegar.

Cover the bowl with a lid so that it slowly warms up.

Put the milk with the rest of the butter in a pan and heat everything to just below the boiling point.

Drain the potatoes, add the milk and stamp everything with the puree pestle into a coarse puree.

Season with salt and pepper.

Stir 2 tablespoons of warm pear juice through the onion mixture.

Divide the meat over four plates, add the onion mixture.

Serve with the mashed potatoes and the cooking pears..
