Beat the eggs with the milk, vanilla sugar, sugar and cinnamon. Soak the slices of bread in this mixture.

Heat half the butter with the sugar and syrup. Put the walnuts through.

Heat the rest of the butter in a frying pan and fry the French toast in 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Serve with the walnut syrup.
