Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 160 ℃. Grease the mold with the butter completely.
  2. Then spray with the cake mix. This way you ensure that the turban comes out of the shape as well as possible.
  3. Shake the excess cake mix in a large mixing bowl and add the rest of the cake mix, the rest of the butter (at room temperature) and the eggs.
  4. Mix with a hand mixer at a low setting in 5 minutes to a smooth batter.
  5. Let the fruit cocktail drain and collect the syrup.
  6. First spread the cornstarch through the fruit and then fold the fruit through the batter. Distribute over the turban shape.
  7. Fry the turban in the middle of the oven for about 1 hour. Cover with aluminum foil if the turban becomes too dark.
  8. After 50 minutes, check with a skewer for doneness. If this comes out clean, the turban is cooked.
  9. Cool for 10 minutes in the mold.
  10. Put a plate or flat dish upside down on the turban and turn around so that it comes out of the shape. Allow to cool completely in 1 hour.
  11. For the glaze, mix 3 tbsp (per 12 persons) fruit syrup with the icing sugar and spread over the turban.
  12. Using a sieve, dust the rest of the icing sugar.
