Directions

  1. Sift the flour over a bowl and mix in the granulated sugar and the vanilla sugar.
  2. Cut the butter into cubes and put them in the bowl. Cut two knives crosswise through the flour mixture, until the butter pieces are very small.
  3. Split the egg and add the yolk to the flour mixture.
  4. Knead the mass with a cool hand quickly into a cohesive dough. Form a dough ball and place it wrapped in plastic wrap, 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  5. Preheat the oven to 175 ° C.
  6. Sprinkle the work surface and rolling pin with flour and roll out the dough into a 5 mm thick piece.
  7. Stick figurines from the dough with a small shape (Christmas). Place the cookies at a distance from each other on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
  8. Bake the cookies in the middle of oven in 15-20 min. Light brown and done.
  9. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and, if necessary, pierce a hole in each cookie with a thick knitting needle or Chinese chopstick, so that they can be hung up.
  10. Lift the baking paper with the biscuits from the hot baking tray (otherwise the baking process will continue) and allow the cookies to cool for at least 30 minutes.
  11. Keep the cookies until use in an airtight drum.
  12. Stir the icing sugar into a glaze with the water.
  13. Brush the top of the cookies with glaze and let it harden.
  14. If necessary, thread a piece of kitchen string or ribbon through each cookie to hang them in the Christmas tree.
