Roasted turkey from the oven: an excellent recipe

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175 ºC.
  2. Heat the butter in a saucepan. Allow to cool off for 5 minutes from the heat. Add the oil.
  3. Remove the elastic from the turkey. Spread the turkey with the butter-oil mixture using the baking brush and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. Put in the roasting pan with the breast down, so it remains juicy. Put in the middle of the oven.
  5. Baste the turkey every 20 min. With a spoon with the shortening. This prevents drying out and keeps the turkey juicy.
  6. Turn the turkey over after 1 hour and 45 minutes and roast for another 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes under aluminum foil. The meat juices then redistribute, so that the meat stays nice and juicy.
