A tasty Italian recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: meat, lentils, olive oil, smoked bacon cubes, onion (finely chopped), celery (in pieces), tomato cubes (400 g), meat broth and sausages.

Directions

  1. Rinse the lentils in a sieve with cold water and let them drain. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan and fry the bacon cubes in 5 minutes on medium heat. Add the onion and celery and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  2. Stir in the lentils and diced tomatoes with adhering moisture through the bacon-vegetable mixture and pour in the stock. Season to taste with salt and (freshly ground) pepper and bring to the boil. Let it cook with the lid on the pan over 40 minutes on low heat.
  3. Heat the rest of the oil in a frying pan and fry the sausages in 10 minutes around brown and done. Serve them with the lentils.
