Stuffed turkey


American traditional turkey stuffed with bread, apple, cranberries, celery and herbs.

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175 ºC.
  2. Remove the crust from the slices of bread and cut them into cubes of 1 cm. Put in the roasting pan and roast in the oven in approx. 6 minutes until golden brown. Leave the oven on.
  3. Meanwhile, cut the onion. Remove the skin from the sausage and cut the sausage into pieces.
  4. Heat a frying pan without oil or butter and fry the sausage and onion for 5 minutes.
  5. Cut the celery into bows. Add the celery, sage, rosemary and thyme and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Spoon the bread into the roasting pan.
  7. Peel the apple, remove the core and cut the apple into pieces. Slice the parsley leaf. Melt the butter.
  8. Add the parsley with the apple, cranberries, fond and half of the butter to the mixture.
  9. Remove the elastic from the turkey. Spoon the filling into the cavity of the turkey. Close the cavity with cocktail sticks.
  10. Place the turkey with the breast upwards in the roasting pan. Pour the rest of the butter over. Sprinkle with salt and salt.
  11. Bake in the center of the oven in approx. 1 hour and 45 minutes. Turn after 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  12. Check after 1 hour and 30 minutes regularly on doneness: insert the roasting thermometer into the turkey's breast. If it indicates 70 ºC, the turkey is cooked.
  13. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes under aluminum foil before cutting the turkey.
