Gadogado with spicy tofu and fried egg

Gadogado is an Indonesian classic. A delicious combination of lots of fresh vegetables, egg and satay sauce.

Directions

  1. Bring 2 large pans of water to the boil. Meanwhile, season the skewers for 5 minutes in cold water.
  2. Remove the stem set of the green beans. When the water is boiling, add 1 tablespoons of the green beans and possibly salt and cook on low heat for 8 minutes.
  3. Drain, put back in the pan and leave with the lid on the pan until use.
  4. Add the rice and possibly salt to the other pan and cook over low heat for 8 minutes. Drain, put back in the pan and leave with the lid on the pan until use.
  5. Thread the tofu on the satéprikkers. Heat the grill pan without butter or oil and grill the tofu skewers for about 3 minutes. Turn halfway.
  6. Meanwhile, put the satay sauce with the water and sambal in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Cook on low heat for 1 min.
  7. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry 2 fried eggs. Spread the green beans, rice, pointed cabbage and bean sprouts separately over the plates.
  8. Place the eggs on the rice and the tofu skewers. Put the peanut sauce in a bowl and serve with it.
