Shea butter

Shea butter, or Karite butter, comes from West and Central Africa and is extracted from the Karite tree. The Karite tree or butter tree, only occurs on the savannah of Africa. The tree takes 15 years to get the first fruits. The berry-like fruits can grow a few centimeters long and consist of more than 50% fat. African women used the shea butter to protect the skin against the strong sun rays, but also against cold and wind. (Note! Western women generally do not have as dark skin as African women, fair skin lets in the sun's rays! Anyone with fair skin needs sun factor protection, which is almost non-existent in Shea butter!)

Baobab oil

Baobab oil is made from the fruits and seeds of the Baobab tree that grows in the savannas of Africa and Madagascar.
