Is cauliflower rice or cauliflower pizza healthy?

  1. Cauliflower rice and other products that consist entirely of vegetables are healthy and are listed in the Wheel of Five. Products that partly consist of vegetables, such as cauliflower pizza, are not always included in the Wheel of Five. It depends on what else is in the product whether it is healthy.

Share vegetables: not automatically healthy

It depends on how much vegetables are in it, and what else is in the product, whether it is really healthier for you. Little is known about the effect of these new vegetable products on health. It is not clear whether vegetables processed in a product, such as in a pizza crust or pita bread, are just as good for you as vegetables that you eat with a meal. Studies into the health effects of vegetables only looked at vegetables that have not been processed or have been minimally processed (e.g. cooking). Vegetables in vegetable products do provide nutritional value. The fiber, vitamins and minerals also count towards your daily intake. For example, a pita bread with carrot puree contributes to the intake of beta-carotene.
