Just tested: the sushi maker Rice Cube

  1. Making your own sushi requires some patience and technique. Fortunately, it can also be easier. With the Rice Cube you can make perfectly square rice cubes in no time that you can dress in all kinds of ways.

  1. It looks a bit like red duplicate blocks, but it really is a handy kitchen buddy. The Rice Cube promises that making sushi will be a breeze. No hassle with mats. And you can use any kind of rice, it doesn't necessarily have to be sticky. It is a matter of putting rice and garnish in the mold and pressing it briefly. It sounds simple, but it is. In ten steps you have a perfect square rice cube. And precisely because of these simple steps, it is also great fun to make sushi with children. The Rice Cube has no small loose parts and is completely safe. Do dip it in water regularly during preparation. That way the rice cubes will not stick to the cube. After use, the device is so clean, but you can also put it in the dishwasher.

Vary

  1. Just like with regular sushi you can of course use all kinds of fish and vegetables. Cut the ingredients into small pieces - about half a centimeter - and always make sure to fill more than half of the Rice Cube with rice. It is important that your ingredients are not too moist. After forming the square you can decorate the rice. For example, fold a piece of nori around the cube. You can also roll your â € essushiâ € ™ through sesame or poppy seeds. Serve with some seaweed, sashimi or sauce on top. The great thing about the Rice Cube is that you can use all kinds of rice and you don't need vinegar or sugar to make the rice sticky. You can even make squares from risotto, polenta or green lentils.

Charm

  1. Thanks to the square shape, your sushi will quickly look festive with a little garnish. You can also use the Rice Cube to make nice starters, appetizers or desserts. For example, sweeten the rice with some (powder) sugar and add fruit. Are there no disadvantages at all? Maybe a little one. If you want to make sushi for a lot of people, the Rice Cube will take you a while. Sushi rolling is then - if you have mastered it well - a bit faster. In addition, self-rolled sushi still has its charm. The Rice Cube sushi maker is available at, among others, home store Lil.nl. The Rice Cube costs €19.95. A
