Monk's Pepper (Vitex agnus-castus) is a plant of the lavender family (Lamiaceae). It is also known as a chastity tree. Monk's pepper is a medicinal plant that has long been known to compensate for hormonal imbalances in the body, not only in women but also in men. The plant is mainly found in the Mediterranean and West Asia. There it prefers to grow on banks and coasts. The shrub grows up to 5 meters high. In the flowering period from June to September, it reveals its small pink, bluish or violet flowers, arranged like spikes. The monk's pepper produces small, dark brown fruits that turn into four-seeded rock berries.
