The following symptoms indicate a stroke: a crooked face; loss of one or more limbs or loss of strength in an arm or leg (right or left); having difficulty in coming to terms with words or difficulty speaking; a coordination or balance disorder. About a quarter of all people who have had a stroke had experienced short-term failure symptoms, a so-called TIA, prior to the stroke.
