20 healthy recipes with wraps!

  1. Wraps may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about healthy eating. Yet, if used properly, they can indeed form a good basis for a responsible meal! For example, if you eat your wraps full of vegetables and lean proteins, you will soon be doing pretty well.

  1. It is of course important that you choose the filling correctly. And you can do a lot more with that than the beans and ground beef that you find in the average enchiladas! We give you no less than 20 delicious recipes with wraps in today's blog. This way you can get a lot of lunches and dinners ahead!

Are wraps healthy?

  1. Wraps do not have an extremely healthy image. The â € ˜standardâ € ™ white wraps that are eaten a lot are indeed not the best option. They contain little fiber and are therefore comparable to, for example, white bread. However, you can also buy whole grain wraps in most supermarkets, and they are a lot better.

  1. You can also buy vegetable wraps at Albert Heijn, which consist of about 40% beet or carrot. If you want to be 100% sure that there are no crazy ingredients in it, you can of course always make them yourself.

Recipes with wraps

  1. But what do you do with that base? It is the filling that makes wraps more or less healthy. We therefore give you below 20 recipes with wraps that mainly use vegetables, proteins and sometimes some healthy fats!

  1. The easiest option is of course to just fill and roll up wraps. That is an ideal lunch to take with you, for example. Of course you can vary endlessly with the filling, but we give you ten recipes with wraps below for inspiration!

  1. Of course you can't just roll with wraps! You can also make excellent quesadillas with it: two wraps on top of each other with filling in between, which you grill briefly on both sides. Cheese is very tasty in that, because it 'sticks the wraps together' well. Of course you can also vary enormously with that:

  1. Are you a fan of pizza, but don't eat it too often for health reasons? Then make a wrap pizza! You use a whole grain wrap as a base. It is a lot thinner than a regular pizza crust, and therefore delivers fewer calories and carbohydrates. Then all you have to do is top that wrap with your favorite ingredients and put it under the grill for a few minutes.

  1. Of course it is advisable to also eat some vegetables with this healthier pizza variant. Bell pepper, mushrooms, spinach, and fresh tomato are all tasty options!

  1. Tortilla chips are delicious, but unfortunately not very healthy. Still in the mood for a crunchy snack? Then you can also make your own crisps with corn tortillas! The advantage is that you do not have to fry them, which saves a lot of unhealthy fats. Moreover, you can make your own chips a lot less salty.

  1. For homemade tortilla chips, cut corn wraps into triangular tips and sprinkle with paprika, salt and some olive oil. Then bake at 200 degrees for ten minutes, and you're done! For example, you can serve them with guacamole, or with another (homemade) sauce of your choice.
