I'm overdue, Am I pregnant?

  1. Every woman will have different symptoms indicating she is pregnant. The most common sign is a late or no period. It is important to recognize pregnancy signals because these signals may indicate something other than pregnancy.

Missed or abnormal menstrual periods

  1. If you do not have a period, you can perform a pregnancy test to test whether you are pregnant or not. Many women continue to menstruate even when they are pregnant. Some women continue to have their periods for several months in the pregnancy. Light bleeding during the first months of pregnancy is quite normal. Other explanations for not having a period or an abnormal pattern could be weight change, hormonal problems, pill use and stress.

Sensitive breasts

  1. Usually 1 to 2 weeks after conception, a woman can observe changes in the breasts. In addition to the breasts being more sensitive, there may also be discolorations, usually on the skin around the nipples.

Fatigue

  1. Feeling tired is a common occurrence at the beginning of pregnancy. Other explanations could be; stress, depression, cold or any other illness.

Nausea or vomiting

  1. Usually this takes place between the 2nd and the 8th week of pregnancy. Some women are completely unaffected while others start to feel sick from the very beginning of pregnancy.

Back pain

  1. It is common to have back problems during pregnancy because your body changes. Other explanations for back pain can be; stress, PMS or psychological complaints.

Headache

  1. The change in your hormonal balance can cause headaches. However, other physical complaints or eye problems can also be an explanation.

Frequent urge to urinate

  1. This usually occurs around the 6th to 8th week after conception because the uterus is pressing against the bladder. Other explanations could be; urinary tract infections, cystitis or other medical problems.

Irresistible bouts of appetite

  1. You may have a sudden craving for certain foods, not necessarily sour bombs, but you may also want to stop eating certain things. Another explanation could be that there is stress or depression.
