Make your own spice mixes
-
You can easily make the tastiest spice mixes yourself. Think of spice mixtures such as minced meat spices or fish spices, or an Italian, Spanish or oriental spice mix. Homemade spice mixes are healthier than store-bought spice mixes. They are often very salty. So make your own spice mixes and season your meal with them.
Homemade spice mixes cheaper
-
Making your own spice mixes is often cheaper. You probably already have most herbs at home. Or you buy the herbs once and can then use them for a long time. Most herbs can be used in different mixes. For example, you use pepper and ginger in spice mixes for meat and fish, and you also do it in Oriental spice mixes.

Adjust spice mix to your own taste
-
Another advantage of making your own spice mixes: you can adjust them to your own taste. Do you like spicy food? Then you add some extra chili. Don't like a particular herb? Then you either omit this, or take a different herb instead. For the mixes below, you can add a few teaspoons to your meal according to your own taste.
