The healing power of white mustard
-
White mustard is a plant native to Europe and Asia. It has yellow flowers. You often see him in the spring on the land. This is not uncommon because farmers use this plant as green manure. The plant does not reach maturity, but is ground down to the ground. Farmers do this to prevent the minerals from being washed away by rainfall from the earth during a fallow period. White mustard has light yellow seeds, unlike black mustard, which is dark in color. The indication white has nothing to do with the flowers. White mustard is a seed that is used in herbal medicine for medicinal reasons.

Naming
-
In Latin, white mustard is called Sinapis alba. In Dutch it is also called white mustard or yellow mustard. Yellow mustard is the most logical name, because the color of this mustard is yellow, unlike black mustard which has a more brown color. Mustard comes from the Latin word mustum. That means 'made with must'. In the past mustard seed was mixed with must, an unfermented grape mass.

The seed of white mustard is used for phytotherapeutic purposes as well as the oil that is pressed from this seed. The seed contains the following important active substances: the mustard glycosides sinalbine A and B. These thioglycosides (or mustard glycosides) are converted by the enzyme myrosinase into two substances when the seeds are ground; paraoxybenzyl isothiocyanate, also called mustard oil and sinapesulfate. White mustard seed also contains mucilages, essential oil and fatty oil containing brassica acid, stearic acid and oleic acid.
Mustard improves circulation
-
White mustard locally promotes blood circulation. It's a rubefaciens. That means that it is lubricated on the skin as an external agent. The skin becomes redder locally; that is a sign of improving circulation. For the feet you could try taking a mustard foot bath. You can also apply a mustard compress. In herbal medicine, white mustard is used externally for the following indications:

You then wet a cotton cloth with a mustard decoction and wrap it around the chest and back. In 2007 a scientific study confirmed that white mustard seed is a good basis for a treatment for bronchitis. White mustard infusion is recommended internally by phytotherapists for the following indications:
White mustard and cancer
-
There is often a screen with an anti-cancer effect of a plant. It should be borne in mind that there is no single plant that can prevent 100% cancer. The plant parts that have the greatest chance of 100% cancer prevention are seeds and nuts such as walnuts and hemp seed; this has to do with the content of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Brian Peskin writes in his book "The Untold Story of Cancer," that Nobel laureate Otto Warburg found that a shortage of these essential omega fatty acids is the main cause of cancer. That fact has hardly been investigated by scientists. What has been researched is that all kinds of coal from the cruciferous family gives a lower risk of cancer; for example, the risk of cancer is reduced by 20 to 30% if one eats broccoli. White mustard is a family of broccoli. Glucorafasatin in mustard has been extensively scientifically researched and this is an anti-cancer substance, according to studies. However, we have to note that we do not yet fully understand cancer disease; hence we do not yet understand how the phytonutrient glucorafasatin fights cancer. Incidentally, we can also establish that white mustard contains a relatively high amount of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, just like many other cruciferous plants. That could be another reason that mustard fights cancer.

In addition, you should never use a cover daily for longer than two weeks. It is also important not to use too strong concentrations of mustard seed. Much of the information about the medicinal plant referred to in this article comes from Geert Verhelst's book Great Handbook of Medicinal Plants. That is a handbook in phytotherapy. However, it is not suitable for self-healing. Anyone who is bothered by something should visit a doctor or phytotherapist for a proper diagnosis and choice of the best remedies, tailored to your personal situation. The knowledge and science mentioned here is of a purely informational nature.
