Sudocréme against hemorrhoids: does it really help?

  1. Hemorrhoids: You hardly ever hear about it. No wonder, of course, because no one will spontaneously say during a birthday: "Oh yes, I have a lot of hemorrhoids!" It is, and continues to be, an embarrassing topic that everyone would rather keep quiet about.

  1. TIP from Robert Jan: Do you suffer from hemorrhoids and do you want to get rid of them as quickly as possible? This works immediately >>

  1. But the moment you suffer from hemorrhoids, you want nothing more than an adequate, and above all, quick solution for this.

  1. I regularly get the question whether the well-known Sudocrée is effective against hemorrhoids. I will tell you later in this article whether this is the case.

First of all: What are hemorrhoids?

  1. Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in the lower part of your rectum and anus. Sometimes the walls of these blood vessels can be so thin that the veins get out of place and become irritated, especially when you defecate.

  1. Hemorrhoids are one of the most common causes of rectal bleeding. They are rarely dangerous and usually go away on their own after a few weeks. But you should visit your doctor to make sure it's not a serious condition. He can also remove hemorrhoids that do not go away or that are very painful.

  1. Internal hemorrhoids are far enough in the rectum that you normally cannot see or feel them. They usually don't hurt, because you have few pain-sensitive nerves there. Bleeding may be the only sign you have them.

  2. Internal hemorrhoids are far enough in the rectum that you normally cannot see or feel them. They usually don't hurt because you have few pain-sensitive nerves there. Bleeding may be the only sign you have them.

  1. External hemorrhoids are located under the skin around the anus, where there are many more pain-sensitive nerves that cause them to hurt like bleeding.

  1. Sometimes hemorrhoids develop or enlarge and move towards the anal sphincter. Then you can see them as moist bumps that are more pink than the environment. And they are often painful when you poop.

  2. Sometimes hemorrhoids develop or enlarge and move to the anal sphincter. Then you can see them as moist bumps that are more pink than the environment. And they are often painful when you poop.

  1. Prolapsed hemorrhoids usually go back in on their own. Even if they don't, they can often be pushed back gently.

  1. An external hemorrhoid can form a blood clot and turn it purple or blue. This is called thrombosis. It can hurt, itchy, and bleed. When the clot dissolves, loose skin remains, which can become irritated.

  1. Some people are more likely to get hemorrhoids if other family members, like their parents, have.

  1. A build-up of pressure in your lower rectum can affect blood flow and cause the veins there to swell. This can happen due to extra weight, when you are obese or pregnant. Or it could be because of:

  1. You can also get them if you have constipation or diarrhea that does not go away. Coughing, sneezing, and vomiting can make it worse.

Sudocrée against hemorrhoids: does it really work?

  1. I must honestly tell you that I have no experience with it myself. Fortunately!

  1. Of course I researched the effectiveness of Sudocréme on hemorrhoids, and I have to tell you the results are very disappointing.

  1. I have spoken to many people who have tried this, and it appears that a very small number of people have benefited from Sudocryme in the fight against hemorrhoids.

  1. The vast majority of people with hemorrhoids therefore did not benefit from the application of Sudocréme.

  2. So the vast majority of people with hemorrhoids did not benefit from the use of Sudocréme.

  1. By the way, Sudocré is effective in the treatment of acne!

So what does help against hemorrhoids?

  1. You don't have to be a doctor to find quick ways to relieve your itching and pain or to come up with lasting solutions to keep discomfort from getting worse. The best treatments for hemorrhoids are often things you can do at home.

  1. Many of these tips will help you avoid constipation and make it easier to go to the toilet. That can also prevent the hemorrhoids from coming up.

  1. "Eat more fiber and stay hydrated…"

  1. That's the advice everyone with hemorrhoids will get and that's okay. But what does it mean in real life, when you are at the supermarket or have to decide what to eat?

  1. Let's take a look at specific foods that can help with this painful problem and ways to incorporate them into your meals. And foods to avoid altogether.

  1. Two types of fibers

  1. Many fiber-rich foods contain both types.

  1. You should be consuming 25-30 grams or more of fiber per day. In general, about a third of that should be soluble (even more if you have diarrhea).

  1. Too much fiber can quickly cause flatulence and bloating, so if you're not used to it, add a little bit to your diet. You also need to drink more fluids to help your body use that fiber: 8-10 large glasses of water a day.

  1. Beans, lentils and nuts

  1. You get a lot of bang for your buck with the legume family. Just 90 grams of beans - such as kidney, white, lima or black beans - contain about a third of your daily requirement. Depending on which variety you choose, it will contain between 7 and 10 grams of fiber (both soluble and insoluble).

  1. About 20 almonds or pecans contain 3 grams of fiber and 90 grams of edamame too, but has only about half the calories.

  1. Instead of just using meat in chili concarne and soups, you can also add beans or replace the meat with them. You can also use beans and nuts in salads. Try Indian and Middle Eastern dishes, which often include beans, lentils and peas.

  1. Alternate white sandwiches, pastas, and crackers with versions made from whole wheat flour, buckwheat, cornmeal, or rye to increase insoluble fiber. Cooked oats and barley also give you soluble fiber.

  1. Instead of a regular white bagel for breakfast, eat a packet of instant oatmeal, which contains only half the calories. Snack on popcorn without butter when you feel like it. Sprinkle oatmeal or wheat germ over salads and soups.

  1. Fruits and vegetables

  1. Nothing can go wrong with plant foods. If the skin is thin, such as with apples, pears, plums and potatoes, leave it alone. The peel contains insoluble fiber as well as compounds called flavonoids that can help control hemorrhoid bleeding.

  1. Brightly colored foods - berries, grapes, tomatoes and kale and other dark green vegetables - are generally rich in flavonoids. And the fresher the better. Try to keep them whole and don't damage the skin or leaves until you eat. Do not cook them completely.

  1. A serving of fruit is often good for at least 10% of your daily fiber, usually 3 to 4 grams. 240 grams of leafy vegetables, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, winter squash or green peas give you 4-5 grams of fiber.

  1. Certain fruits and vegetables are very rich in fiber and a lot of water. Cucumbers, celery, peppers and watermelon are mostly water - over 90%.

  1. Get into the habit of adding fruit to your meal. Add berries or bananas to your muesli, apple pieces to your salad, spinach in your omelette or shredded zucchini in your spaghetti sauce.

  1. Snack on dried fruits such as figs, apricots and dates. Eat fresh fruit instead of sweets and desserts - fresh strawberries instead of strawberry cakes.

  1. Low-fiber foods can cause constipation (and thus hemorrhoids) or make it worse, so it's best to limit these foods.

  1. Some of these (red meats, processed meats like hot dogs, and refined carbohydrates) and fried foods can also cause inflammation in your body, which can make hemorrhoids worse.

  1. If your hemorrhoids are itchy or painful, reduce the intake that can irritate your gut like:

  1. Watch the amount of salt you eat. It can cause your body to retain water, which puts more pressure on your blood vessels. The same goes for the veins in your buttocks, which cause hemorrhoids.

  1. Iron supplements can cause constipation and other digestive problems, so check with your doctor before taking them.

Finally ...

  1. Sudocréme against hemorrhoids does not appear to be an effective solution. Fortunately, there are many alternatives available to get rid of those annoying hemorrhoids quickly.
